The Ridgefield Raptors concluded a long season series against the Portland Pickles on Sunday, and the crew is ready to take on their last non-league opponent of 2025, the Northwest Star Nighthawks.

Portland won the series against Ridgefield with a 1-0 win on Sunday, but the Raps only allowed one unearned run and had more hits than the Pickles. The Raptors outscored the Pickles in the series, 14-10.

Ridgefield’s Andrew Estrella had a hit in every game of the series against the Pickles. The LMU shortstop also walked three times and stole a base. On the mound, Pacific’s Zach Todd threw a quality start on Sunday, tossing five scoreless innings with two strikeouts.

A new Raptor in town, Adam Alharbi (Modesto JC) made his debut against Portland on Sunday.

Northwest Star last played on Saturday, and the Nighthawks lost 15-1 against the Bellingham Bells at Joe Martin Field. The Nighthawks also played the Raptors on July 18 and 19 but lost both games in the short series.

Against Bellingham, reliever Samuel Dimaya tossed a scoreless inning and earned a strikeout. Ryan Taguchi, JR Starr, Morrie Solam and Danner Hamburg all got a hit.

Northwest Star’s Luke Kovac played well against Ridgefield on July 19, earning two hits and a double with an RBI. The Clackamas community college product will be amongst the names to watch as the Nighthawks take on the Raptors again this week.

Tuesday and Wednesday’s games will start at 6:35 p.m. at the Ridgefield Outdoor Recreation Complex (RORC). After the series, the Raptors will host the Walla Walla Sweets from Friday to Sunday.
