The Ridgefield Raptors roll into Portland as the hottest team in the West Coast League. The Raptors took all three games from the Marion Berries, 8-2, 13-3 and 11-4, and are 6-0 on the road.

Ridgefield has been getting it done in all facets of the game. The Raptors lead the WCL in home runs (13) and RBIs (112) and rank second in doubles (32).

JT Summers (Oregon) has led the way with a team-leading .380 average and is tied for third in the league with 17 RBIs. Summers and future Ducks teammate Isaiah Hearn are tied for second in the WCL with three home runs apiece.

Michael Perazzo (Sacramento State) has been a cornerstone in the leadoff spot, hitting .341 with 14 hits and 11 RBIs.

Ken Tomitaka (UC San Diego) was on fire in Marion, going 8-for-16 against the Berries with three RBIs.

The weekend rotation has been on point for Ridgefield. The trio of Fresno State teammates Jordan Haver and Parker Heintz and Michigan right-hander Justin Brown has paid dividends for the Raptors. Ridgefield is 7-1 when one of those three starts.

The bullpen has flexed its muscles late, too. Outside of the Raptors’ 13-1 loss to the Pippins last Thursday, Ridgefield’s bullpen has allowed just seven earned runs over the last eight games and 24 1/3 innings of work.

Measured against their lofty expectations, the Pickles are off to a modest 6-6 start in 2026. Portland won its first WCL championship in 2024 and followed it with a dominant 43-11 regular season in 2025. However, the Pickles fell short of repeating, losing to the Bellingham Bells in the championship game.

Portland has been consistent at home, going 4-2 while winning series against the Victoria HarbourCats and Corvallis Knights. The Pickles have struggled on the road, however, dropping series in Port Angeles and Bellingham over the weekend. Portland sits three-and-a-half games behind Ridgefield for first place in the WCL South.

The Raptors wrap up their first six-game road trip of the season against the Pickles, then return home to host the Walla Walla Sweets this Friday, June 19th. It’s the first Kids Club member game of the season. All Kids Club members have free tickets to the game and will be invited onto the field for the national anthem before the game!
