Ridgefield improved to 5-1 on Thursday night with a walk-off win in 13 innings, the first extra inning game the Raptors have played this year. John Peck hammered a game-winning double that scored Reece Hernandez to win, 10-9. Peck had cleared the bases in the 9th inning with a 3-RBI double during the Raptors’ 4-run inning that sent it to extras.
The Raptors end the homestand 5-1 and take to Yakima Valley, the same team Ridgefield faced to begin the Raptors’ first season. The Pippins won the first game in Raptors history on June 4, 2019 in a 4-3 nail biter. Ridgefield came back to even the season series at three games apiece, outscoring Yakima Valley 27-3 in the final two contests.
The Raptors enjoyed a seven-game homestand to open this year’s schedule, playing in front of an energized fan base that saw Raptors baseball in person for the first time since 2019. Ridgefield was the last team in the league to lose a game, starting 4-0.
This road series in Yakima Valley begins a six-game road trip; a rematch with Bend is on tap next week after a day off on Monday. The next home game for the Raptors is June 19.
