The Ridgefield Raptors make the short trip south to Walker Stadium to start a three-game series Friday against the Portland Pickles. Game times have been altered to avoid the heat: Friday starts at 7:05, Saturday at 8:00 and Sunday at 7:30.

Ridgefield has won four of the first five series of the year, losing only one series to the Yakima Valley Pippins and the Raptors just finished a series win over Yakima Valley to get revenge. Ridgefield outpaced the Pippins on Thursday, 13-9, to get the series win. The Raptors had 30 hits in the final two games to further their lead in the West Coast League in hits.

Ridgefield also leads the league in runs scored, RBIs, home runs and batting average. Caden Connor had a 3-RBI double on Thursday to register his eighth double of the year, two more than any other player in the league. John Peck has also been hitting well, with two straight 3-hit games. The Raptors also have the league leader in hits (Coby Morales, 25), home runs (Will Chambers and Kody Darcy, 4), and RBIs (Coby Morales, 18).

This weekend series marks the second time the Raptors and Pickles have faced off against each other. The first series came down to the wire as the Pickles had a 4-run lead in the 9th inning and the Raptors tied the game up in the 9th and won on a walkoff in the 13th.

Ridgefield currently stands one game behind first place in the WCL South Division at 10-5. The Corvallis Knights are 11-5.
