The Ridgefield Raptors play a third and final series with the Bend Elks this week, with the series split between the two ballparks. Game one is Tuesday at Vince Genna Stadium in Bend, while the Wednesday and Thursday games are in Ridgefield. All three games will begin at 6:35 and a live audio stream is available at RidgefieldRaptors.com (plus a live video stream for all home games).
The Raptors are 13-11 on the year after concluding the first half of the summer schedule. Corvallis clinched the first half title and a playoff berth; one more postseason slot is up for grabs for a Southern Division team that will be decided at the conclusion of the regular season.
Ridgefield is undefeated so far against the Elks, opening the summer with a three-game sweep at home and winning all three games in Bend in June. The Raptors scored 59 runs agains the Elks in those six games, more runs than any other team Ridgefield has played.
Two dramatic games have already occurred between these ball clubs, both in the last series. Dominic Enbody had the game-winning RBI and then the game-winning run in successive nights in Bend.
The Ridgefield Raptors finished their best record of any half season so far in franchise history, going 13-11. The Raptors went 13-14 in the first half in 2019, and 14-13 in the second half. With two teams from each division making the postseason, Ridgefield finished in 3rd place in its inaugural season in 2019. This year, Ridgefield has not yet secured a playoff berth but could do so by either winning the second half or by finishing in second place in overall record if Corvallis also wins the second half.
After this series against Bend, Ridgefield officially starts the second half of the summer schedule by traveling to Longview to play the Cowlitz Black Bears this Friday through Sunday.
