The Ridgefield Raptors prepare to host another Canadian foe to begin their 2026 season, the Kamloops NorthPaws come to town to complete our opening homestand, Tuesday, June 2-Thursday, June 4.

The Raptors took two of three games from the NightOwls over the weekend to start the season 2-1. One of the highlights from the series was the Raptors sharp starting pitching, its trio of Jordan Haver (Fresno State), Jake Lenberger (Eastern Oregon) and Parker Heintz (Fresno State) allowed one earned run and four hits in 11 innings of work.

The first two games of the series were tight one-run games, Nanaimo won the opener 4-3, then Ridgefield pulled out a 4-3 win Saturday and convincingly won 15-3 Sunday.

The Raptors bats took advantage of early Nanaimo errors in the bottom of the first inning to build a 4-0 lead. Noah Albanese (Saint Martin’s) shined for Ridgefield, going 4-for-4 with two-run homer and double, driving in six runs.

The NorthPaws hung tight with the 10-time-WCL champions, Corvallis Knights, pushing them to extra innings on Friday and Saturday night, falling 9-6 in 10 innings and 11-9 in 11 innings Saturday. A seven-run-sixth inning Sunday propelled the Knights to a 14-6 win and series sweep.

Riley Jepson is in his second season as NorthPaws head coach. Jepson played three seasons of professional baseball – one in the Chicago White Sox organization and over two years in the independent Pioneer Baseball League. He played college baseball at University of Simon Fraser and University of Texas at Tyler.
