Following an extra-inning walk-off three-run home run to win the series against Bellingham, the Ridgefield Raptors now face the Corvallis Knights for a three-game series starting Friday night at 6:30.
The first two games are on the road in Corvallis and the 4th of July game is at 3:05 in Ridgefield. All three games can be found at RidgefieldRaptors.com (audio stream for the first two games, video stream for the home game).
This is the last series of the first half, when the top team in each division gets an automatic playoff berth. Corvallis is the only team in front of Ridgefield in the South Division standings. Since the tiebreaker is head-to-head record, Ridgefield would end in first place by winning two games in the series. It would be the first playoff berth for the Raptors in team history, and they will have to beat the four-time reigning champion to earn it.
Ridgefield finished out the Bellingham series with two straight wins, the latter one in extra innings when Kody Darcy got a pinch-hit opportunity in the 10th inning with two outs. He took the first pitch he saw to left field for a 3-run home run, the second walk-off win in Ridgefield this year.
Ridgefield continues to lead the West Coast League in runs, hits, doubles, home runs, runs batted in, batting average and slugging percentage.
