With strong offensive momentum, the Ridgefield Raptors will be on the road in Corvallis this weekend to play the Knights in a three-game series. This weekend’s series will be the first between Ridgefield and Corvallis this year.
Through the first two games of their series against the Marion Berries, the Raptors scored 29 runs. Ridgefield scored 10 runs on Tuesday night and 19 on Wednesday night.
Ridgefield (7-10) scored a season high 19 runs and 22 hits on Wednesday night. Outfielder Christian Hoffman hit a grand slam. Nevada outfielder Jackson Waller scored three times after three hits and three RBI. Noah Karliner, Jake Harvey, Angelo Aleman, Jose Mariano, Nolan Ganter and Andrew Estrella all had two or more hits in the Raptors’ big win. Southern Nevada’s Boston Jensen won the decision with 2.1 scoreless innings pitched.
The Raptors have not been to Corvallis since last August. Corvallis beat Ridgefield 12-5 on August 11, 2024 to win the divisional series. This season, the Knights are off to a 7-8 start and beat the Cowlitz Black Bears at David Story Field on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Corvallis is led by Northwest Nazarene infielder Gavin Brubaker at the plate. The junior has amounted 16 hits in just nine games for the Knights. Oregon State outfielder Joshua Proctor has hit two home runs for Corvallis and also leads the team in RBI (10).
On the hill, the Knights have a 5.44 team ERA. Utah’s Easton Jones has pitched in five games and started twice. Against Cowlitz on Wednesday, Jones pitched seven innings and allowed just one run and did not walk a Black Bear. Jones’ six strikeouts were a season high for the right-hander in an 8-1 win.
Game 1 against the Knights on Friday night will start at 6:35 p.m. Game 2 on Saturday will start at 7:05 p.m., and Sunday’s finale will start at 5:05 p.m.
