The Ridgefield Raptors begin an eight-game homestand Tuesday at 6:35 p.m. as the Highline Bears return to the RORC. Ridgefield beat Highline earlier this year, 9-2, and will host the Redmond Dudes on Wednesday for the first time in team history. Both Tuesday and Wednesday’s games begin at 6:35 and will be streamed live at RidgefieldRaptors.com.
Both the Highline Bears and Redmond Dudes compete in the Pacific International League. The Bears are based in Seattle and the Dudes play in Redmond, Washington.
The Raptors just finished their longest road trip of the year: six games between Port Angeles and Bellingham, and now will play 10 of the final 14 games at home. The Raptors finished the road trip on a four-game losing streak, although each game was close. The losses were by a combined six runs, and the Raptors outscored their opponents by four runs on the week despite going 2-4. Ridgefield is still right in the mix for a playoff spot, currently a half-game behind Portland for the second playoff berth in the Southern Division.
Ridgefield is now 26-18 in all games this year, including a 20-16 mark in West Coast League games. The Raptors went 2-4 on the road trip to northern Washington and now return to the RORC, where the Raptors are 17-6 this summer. Ridgefield has won five straight road games.
After these two non-league games, the final quarter of the WCL season gets underway with the Walla Walla Sweets traveling to the RORC. That three game series begins Friday at 6:35 p.m and includes a pet-friendly 1:05 Sunday matchup. Presented by WellHaven Pet Health, the “Bark in the Park” game is August 1st. Tickets are available for all fans, dog-owners or otherwise, at RidgefieldRaptors.com.
