The final six-game homestand of the year is this week, as the Bellingham Bells and Springfield Drifters come to the RORC for a pair of series in Ridgefield.
The Bells finished the first half of the 2022 summer with the best record in the 16-team West Coast League, going 19-7. Bellingham made the playoffs last year and already locked up a berth this year by winning the northern division.
Ridgefield came extremely close to winning the first half title from the southern division, beating Corvallis two games out of three at Goss Stadium last week. The Raptors came into the series needing a sweep, however, and so the Raptors will have to win the second half title or get one of the southern division’s two wild card spots to make the playoffs.
The Raptors made the playoffs last year, just like Bellingham, but the Bells had the upper hand in the head-to-head series, 4-2. Ridgefield won the home series, two games of three. This will be the only series between the Raptors and Bells this summer.
Ridgefield welcomes a new team in the Springfield Drifters for the second home series. Springfield joined the WCL this summer. Ridgefield plays two series against Springfield this summer, with a road series coming later in July.
All home games are at 6:35 except for Family Day on Sunday at 1:05, where kids get in free (12 & under with two kids per paid adult). A live video stream is available on YouTube and RidgefieldRaptors.com.
